This policy describes the terms and conditions for order cancellations, returns, refunds, and exchanges on the merikart.com website.
- Cancellation policy
1.1. Order cancellation by the customer
- Timeframe for cancellation:You can cancel your order at any point before it has been shipped. To cancel, please contact our customer support team immediately with your order details.
- Post-shipping cancellation:If an order has already been shipped, it cannot be canceled. You will need to initiate a return request once the product is delivered, as per our Returns Policy below.
- No cancellation charges: As per the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, we will not impose any cancellation charges on you if you cancel a purchase.
1.2. Order cancellation by merikart.com
We reserve the right to cancel an order under certain circumstances, including:
- Unavailability of the product.
- Inaccuracies or errors in product or pricing information.
- Problems identified by our fraud prevention department.
- Inability to deliver to the specified address.
In the event of a cancellation by us, we will notify you and process a full refund to your original payment method.
- Returns and refunds policy
2.1. Conditions for a valid return
- Defective, damaged, or incorrect items:If you receive a product that is defective, damaged, or different from what you ordered, you can request a return. We will not refuse to take back such goods.
- Return period: Return requests must be initiated within 7 days of receiving your order.
- Original condition: The item must be unused, in its original packaging, and include all tags, accessories, and a copy of the original invoice.
- Non-returnable items:The following products are generally not eligible for return:
- Items purchased during a sale or promotion (unless defective).
- Perishable goods like food and drinks.
- Personal care items, lingerie, or swimwear for hygiene reasons.
- Items that have been used or opened.
- Return shipping cost:If you receive a defective or incorrect item, merikart.com will cover the return shipping costs. For other reasons, you may be required to pay for the return shipping.
2.2. How to initiate a return
- Log in to your account on www.merikart.com.
- Go to “Order History” and select the order you wish to return.
- Click the “Return Item” button and follow the instructions. You may be required to provide a reason for the return and upload images of the product.
- Once your request is approved, you will receive instructions on how to return the item.
2.3. Refund process
- Inspection: Once we receive the returned item, it will undergo a quality check.
- Refund approval: If the return is approved, your refund will be processed within 7–10 business days. We will notify you by email.
- Refund method:
- For prepaid orders, the refund will be credited back to your original payment method (e.g., credit card, debit card, UPI).
- For Cash on Delivery (COD) orders, the refund will be processed via bank transfer or store credit, as per your preference.
- Delayed refunds: If you have not received your refund within the stipulated time, please check with your bank or credit card company. If the issue persists, contact us for assistance.
